Parents,
Thank you so much for making the education of your children a priority and getting them to school on time each day!!! For all of their hard work during the month of August, they get to celebrate Labor Day with all the other hard working Americans. There will be no school on Monday. Talk to your child about what they remember from our lessons about this American Holiday.
The first Scholastic book order was sent home on Friday! The children were all very excited about bringing it home. They actually cheered! This is a great sign about their enthusiasm for reading. The more your children love books, practice reading (pictures and words) and reading behaviors the better readers they will become. There are lots of great titles in this first order. If you are able, purchasing books from Scholastic is a great way to acquire books for your child's collection and our classroom. I will take note of the books you order for your child and order similar titles for our classroom library. Book orders are due September 9th.
