Fall
We are now experiencing cooler Fall like weather. Please be sure to dress your child for outdoor recess every day. I also ask that you write your child's name on their sweaters, jackets, and coats. When they remove their outer layers of clothing, it is quite common for children to forget about them. We are better able to help your child keep up with his/her things when names are on them.
Red Ribbon Week
Monday, Oct. 24 Boot out Drugs- Wear boots!
Tuesday, Oct. 25 Team up against drugs-Wear your favorite jersey!
Wednesday, Oct. 26 Sock it to drugs- Wear your crazy socks!
Thursday, Oct. 27 Don’t let drugs turn you- Wear your shirt inside out!
Friday, Oct. 28 Wear Red for Red Ribbon Week!
Homework
Whenever the homework calendar says garden club words, that refers to kindergarten sight words. Each student is acquiring sight words as his/her own pace, so it is best for parents to work one on one with their child to learn the words they do not yet know. I would recommend selecting 4 to 5 words each week. It is also helpful to study words that rhyme, together.
By the end of the quarter, before Christmas break, students are expected to know 25-50 sight words. I will send home a packet with some ways to practice sight words.
